A Brisbane based developer is expanding its footprint on the Gold Coast, acquiring a 1.7 hectare site at 1 Clarke Street, Southport within the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.
Azure is set to settle on the site in the second quarter of 2026 and plans to deliver more than 100 luxury residences to the central Gold Coast.
The site sits within Lumina, a 200 hectare purpose built commercial and innovation precinct forming part of one of Queensland’s fastest growing employment hubs. The acquisition represents one of the final residential opportunities within the broader Lumina precinct.
Trent Keirnan, Founder at Azure, said the move would mark a further step south for the Brisbane headquartered group.
“Southport is rapidly emerging as a true CBD, underpinned by health, education and innovation,” he said.
“Securing one of the final residential opportunities within Lumina at the 200 hectare Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct allows us to play a meaningful role in shaping the next chapter of the city.”
The proposal would introduce a contemporary terrace community, with architect designed residences offering a mix of one, two and three bedroom homes. The project is intended to respond to demand for well located housing close to employment, education and health facilities within Southport.
The Southport acquisition would become Azure’s second residential project on the Gold Coast, adding to a growing pipeline of projects across Southeast Queensland. The group has delivered more than 300 residences in the past year and reports a development pipeline valued at approximately $2 billion.
Planning and design work is now underway, with a sales launch scheduled for the second half of 2026.
