A development application has been submitted by Spyre Group for the construction of ‘Arc’, a 10-storey residential apartment building located at 570-576 Coronation Drive, Toowong.

Project rundownPlans

Designed by Bureau Proberts, the $90 million development features a curved white concrete facade with all apartments designed to face the riverfront.

“The intent is for the building to have a muted material palette focused on textural concrete,
glazing, discrete planted elements and a fine grain batten screen”. – Bureau Proberts.

An open void is proposed at the ground level podium of the development which would feature landscaped gardens and provide public views towards the river.

A rooftop pool and BBQ area is planned as well as private roof terraces for the two proposed penthouses.

Nice design, but 60 carparks means that driveway will seriously disrupt the bikepath. Considering the volume of bike traffic right now (and what’s expected once the Toowong-West End bridge is in place) this could be a real bottle-neck.

Here’s hoping council engage the developer and negotiate a new bike path (perhaps along the riverfront?) so that all benefit from this new building.

This place has too many car parks given it’s proximity to quality public and active transport services, but it looks cool.

Make sure the well used bike path isn’t disrupted during construction.

At last, some decently sized apartments for families – 3 bedrooms and two living areas. Sadly too hard to come by in most developments. Would be very keen.
