Sekisui House has proposed the next residential stage of its West Village master-planned development in West End.

Designed by Plus Architecture, the proposed development application is for 163 apartments across two fifteen storey residential towers.

53 dwellings are to be located in the North Tower and 110 dwellings being provided in the South Tower. The total residential GFA for the development is 16,897sqm.

In addition, 208sqm of retail GFA is proposed at the ground storey with direct access to Mollison Street and Little Jane Lane.

Stage 2 Development Rundown

  • x23 one bedroom apartments
  • x102 two bedroom apartments
  • x22 three bedroom apartments
  • x16 four bedroom apartments
  • x163 apartments total

Stage 1 is currently under construction as well as ‘The Common’ which is a 1,585sqm 24 hour publically accessible open space situated along Boundary Street.

Landscaping and Communal Open Space

Stage 2a includes a total of 1,582sqm of landscaped and integrated open area, which will be delivered over two separate major landscaped areas. Stage 2a also includes 555sqm of Deep planting, provided at both ground level and on Podium.

Little Jane Lane

In addition to the proposed private landscaped areas, the development proposes to re-surface and landscape Little Jane Lane publicly accessible open space area.

Little Jane Lane is intended to improve connectivity within the development and surrounding areas. The lane will serve as an access point for vehicles to the approved Parking Station and residential carpark as well as service vehicle access and loading bays with 24 hours access.

Pedestrian zones have been widened as much as allowable without compromising the demands of vehicle access. Traffic calming measures, planting and varying road finishes have been introduced to encourage a pedestrian-friendly shared environment.

The driving surface of Little Jane Lane is proposed to be upgraded and re-finished with an exposed aggregate finish. Pedestrian movement area and shared zones will be visually delineated with a high-quality stone finish.

Recreation Facilities

Stage 2a also provides for communal open space, including a podium level landscaped area, swimming pool, deep plating areas in keeping with subtropical design principles, residents only cinema, wine cellar and dining area and outdoor BBQ facilities. There is no apparent tower rooftop utilisation proposed.
