Brisbane hospitality operator Ghanem Group has confirmed plans for a new Mediterranean themed venue called Alfi Eatery and Bar, scheduled to open at Everton Plaza’s Park Lane precinct in mid 2026. The project marks a shift for the group as it expands beyond the CBD and into established suburban centres.

Located on the ground level of the precinct’s new food and beverage zone, the restaurant would accommodate about three hundred and fifty diners and span approximately eight hundred square metres. Entrances are positioned on both South Pine Road and near Everton Plaza’s Stafford Road entry point, placing the venue at the western end of the precinct’s redevelopment area.

The proposal outlines a layout built around a large open kitchen and a central U shaped bar. A key component of the venue is a two hundred seat courtyard framed by landscaping and patterned as an outdoor extension of the interior dining room. The design references the Amalfi Coast with light timber finishes, Italian stone, curved ceiling forms and pastel upholstery. Private dining zones would be created through curtained booth settings.

Inside, a mix of table types is planned. Seating options would include high and low tables, communal arrangements and a bar zone adjoining the central bar structure. The outdoor area would continue the neutral colour palette and include a patio and courtyard arbour intended to establish a relaxed Mediterranean setting.

If delivered as proposed, Alfi would become the largest food and beverage venue at Everton Plaza. The scale forms part of a broader commercial update occurring within the precinct that includes new retail, dining and car parking infrastructure.

Ghanem Group Director Adonis Ghanem said the timing of the broader redevelopment presented an opportunity to introduce a new suburban concept. Fitout works are now underway following several years of planning.

The group has undertaken a number of projects during the past year including the opening of Lúc Lắc at Queens Wharf, the return of Byblós at Portside Wharf, the renovation of the Commercial Hotel Boonah and its associated Boonah Brewing Co, and the introduction of Blackbird Bar Dining and Events into Flinders Lane in Melbourne.

Alfi Eatery and Bar is expected to form part of the next stage of reinvestment at Everton Plaza as the precinct continues to evolve into a mixed retail and dining destination for the north west corridor.
