Cedar Woods has commenced construction on the first apartment building within its Greville masterplanned community in Wooloowin, a northern inner suburb of Brisbane. The launch marks a shift from earlier townhome stages, with the new six-storey residential building titled Vera.

The project, located on a 3.5-hectare site formerly occupied by the Holy Cross laundry, comprises 58 apartments across a range of configurations. Vera is one of three apartment buildings planned as part of the broader Greville development, which will eventually deliver more than 200 apartments and 84 townhomes, alongside adaptive reuse of heritage buildings on the site.

According to Cedar Woods, Vera includes one, two and three-bedroom apartments, some of which offer views over the 4,000m² Greville Park. Others provide city-facing outlooks. Apartment sizes range from 78m² to 122m².

Residents would have access to rooftop communal amenities, which include a pool, barbeque and dining area, and a lounge space with a firepit.

The building has been designed by architecture firm Rothelowman. Emacen Projects has been appointed as the construction partner, with works now underway and completion targeted for early 2027.

Located approximately five kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, Greville is a masterplanned precinct that integrates new medium-density housing with public green space and heritage elements. The precinct’s 4,000m² public park was completed in 2023 and is already accessible to residents.

According to Cedar Woods, 50% of Vera’s apartments have been placed under contract following a “coming soon” sales campaign. Remaining residences are priced from $874,000.

Cedar Woods Development Director Blair Britton said Vera represents a milestone in the broader Greville vision.

“Vera’s curated collection of residences, designed by Rothelowman, represents a premium offering in the area. It features resort-style amenities that enhance the exceptional lifestyle on offer,” Mr Britton said.

The delivery of apartments at Greville follows the sell-out of the first two townhome releases, with the first collection settled in late 2024 and the second currently nearing completion.

The development has received public support from local representatives. Marchant Ward Councillor Danita Parry said the project contributes to inner north Brisbane’s housing supply.

“Brisbane is one of Australia’s fastest-growing cities and projects like this help address the critical housing demand in our area,” Cr Parry said.

“This project won’t just offer more housing options for people of all ages and abilities, it is already creating more to see and do, with the delivery of a new public park.”

In addition to the new-build housing, Cedar Woods is planning to deliver a small number of residences within the former Holy Cross laundry building.

Originally constructed in the 1800s, the structure forms part of the site’s heritage and is intended to be preserved and adaptively reused as part of the long-term development.
