Construction is now underway on a dedicated Experience Centre at Mermaid Beach, a precursor to what is shaping up to be one of the Gold Coast’s largest private developments in recent years.
The Experience Centre forms the initial physical step in the rollout of ‘The Landmark’, a $2.5 billion mixed-use precinct proposed by Aniko Group, set to feature four towers combining residential, commercial, retail and hotel components.
Located directly opposite Pacific Fair, the centre is designed to give the public a preview of the vision and scale of the larger development, which will eventually encompass luxury apartments, office space, dining, and an upper-luxury international hotel offering.

According to Aniko Group founder and managing director George Mastrocostas, the move to begin construction on the Experience Centre comes after the company wrapped up a $600 million project pipeline at Hope Island.
The completion of our Hope Island portfolio has enabled us to redeploy our in-house construction team to commence work on this Experience Centre, which will showcase the immense scale and vision of The Landmark,” Mr Mastrocostas said.

The Experience Centre will include a sales suite, coffee shop, and interactive elements designed to explore the history of the Gold Coast as well as the project’s proposed contribution to its evolution.
We have seen remarkable interest in The Landmark over recent months,” Mr Mastrocostas said, “and we are eager to bring this Experience Centre to life so people can truly appreciate the quality, innovation, and legacy we are creating for the Gold Coast.”

While still early in its delivery, the broader project has been framed by Aniko Group as a potential legacy precinct, drawing parallels with earlier landmark developments that helped define the Gold Coast’s identity, such as The Star Casino, Sheraton Mirage, and Sanctuary Cove.
Stage 1 of The Landmark is scheduled for release in mid-2025 and includes 240 apartments designed by Plus Architecture. These units are expected to feature views across the ocean, city skyline and hinterland, paired with high-end amenity offerings.

The project’s Mermaid Beach location places it within walking distance of major local destinations including The Star, Broadbeach, and Burleigh Heads, with Aniko positioning it to appeal to both domestic and international buyers.
We see The Landmark as a key milestone in the evolution of the Gold Coast—from a relaxed seaside town to a truly international city,” Mr Mastrocostas said.
Public access to the Experience Centre is anticipated by May 2025, ahead of the broader development’s Stage 1 launch later in the year. Visitors will be able to explore project details, meet the team, and engage with the development in a more tactile way.
Once complete, we want everyone—whether you’re looking to buy or simply curious—to come in, enjoy a coffee, meet our team, and see first-hand how The Landmark will shape the future of the Gold Coast.”
The Landmark joins a growing list of large-scale development activity currently underway or planned across the southeast Queensland coastal corridor, which continues to attract capital and population growth ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games.
