West Village has unveiled the designs for Stage 1 of the $800 million master planned, mixed-use project at West End which is set to become a vibrant new destination for Brisbane.

West Village Project Director, Andrew Thompson, said the first stage included two new residential buildings comprising 342 apartments.

“This is an exciting milestone for West Village and a significant step towards realising our vision for the project,” Mr Thompson said.

“We are working closely with Brisbane City Council and the community to deliver a carefully planned project that contributes to the local character of West End and the vibrant nature of Boundary Street.”

The two 15-storey buildings are code assessable under the South Brisbane Riverside Neighbourhood Plan.

The apartments are a mix of one, two and three bedrooms. Stage 1 also includes three three-storey terrace homes facing Wilson Street and Little Jane Street. Secure car parks and bicycle parks will be provided for every apartment.

“The residential buildings will include 1300 square metres of podium and rooftop gardens and recreation space,” Mr Thompson said.

The development application for Stage 1 was lodged with Brisbane City Council on Friday, September 11.

Mr Thompson said his team would also be undertaking a review of the preliminary approval application for West Village after taking into consideration Council and community feedback on building heights.

The design for West Village includes 6500 square metres of publicly accessible open space, including a new park on Boundary Street.

Set on 2.6 hectares in West End’s Boundary Street precinct, just 1.1 kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD, West Village is an innovative residential, retail, recreational and commercial development.

The West Village Vision Centre at 93 Boundary Street, West End is open Thursday to Sunday and by appointment.
