Aria Property Group has added a new drawcard to Fish Lane. The developer, which owns and activates the South Brisbane laneway precinct, has partnered with The Bathhouse Group to open a flagship bathhouse in the heart of Fish Lane, bringing luxury wellness to a strip already known for its dining and culture. The Bathhouse Fish Lane is set to open in 2027.

It will be the fourth location for The Bathhouse Group and its second in Brisbane, joining The Bathhouse Albion, The Bathhouse Spa in Queenstown and a Sydney venue also due in 2027. For Aria, it continues a long running effort to build Fish Lane into what it calls Brisbane’s most complete lifestyle precinct.

Fish Lane has grown into one of Brisbane’s most recognised lifestyle destinations under Aria’s stewardship, home to Southside Restaurant and Cafe, La Lune Wine Co, Marlowe, Julius Pizzeria and Pilgrim Yoga, along with Brooki’s Bakehouse, which opened in June. The bathhouse is pitched as a natural complement to that hospitality mix, sitting within easy reach of QPAC and BCEC and the growing residential community of inner South Brisbane.

The addition rounds out a precinct that Aria has deliberately curated across dining, culture and movement, with luxury restoration now the final piece. It is a fitting next step for a laneway that Aria has spent more than a decade transforming from a post industrial back street into a destination in its own right.

The venue has been designed by Hogg and Lamb, the multi award winning Brisbane practice behind The Bathhouse Albion. It will carry the brand’s signature European bathhouse aesthetic, with atmospheric lighting and an abundance of silver travertine stone throughout, the same material language that has defined the brand since its 2024 debut.

Guests will move through a curated sequence of hot and cold experiences, including a 38 degree heated pool, a 34 degree ambient pool and a 12 degree cold pool, two expansive traditional saunas, a tiered scented steam room, two infrared saunas and a spacious relaxation lounge with a fireplace. In keeping with the brand, it will be a phone free and alcohol free environment, finished with unlimited cotton towels, premium tea and a calming signature scent.

Since opening in Albion, we’ve seen what it means to people to have a space that provides complete relaxation and rejuvenation in a luxury setting, beautiful scents and sounds, no phones, unlimited towels.

Hannah Hardy, Director of Lifestyle, The Bathhouse Group

The Bathhouse Group has moved quickly since launching in 2024. In just two years it has been named the Best Luxury Bathhouse Globally and picked up wins across the World Luxury Awards and the INDE.Awards for design and wellbeing. Its venues, spread across Australia and New Zealand, are defined by architectural quality, premium service and those phone and alcohol free spaces.

In just two years, The Bathhouse has been recognised as the Best Luxury Bathhouse Globally. We’re thrilled the spaces we’ve built resonate far beyond Brisbane, and we’re honoured to bring this luxury experience to the world class Fish Lane precinct.

Hannah Hardy, Director of Lifestyle, The Bathhouse Group

Aria Property Group is one of the developers most closely associated with the transformation of South Brisbane. It has delivered a run of residential projects around Fish Lane and Grey Street, among them its flagship The Standard, the 138 apartment Austin on the corner of Fish Lane and Grey Street, the sustainability focused Trellis and the 180 apartment Melbourne Residences. Along the way it has built hundreds of the apartments within a short walk of the lane, and it continues to activate the precinct as its custodian.

Registrations of interest for The Bathhouse Fish Lane are open ahead of its 2027 opening. We will update this article as more detail on the venue is released.
