A development application has been submitted on behalf of La Salle Investment Management for two new residential towers located at Upper Mt Gravatt.

Designed by Nettleton Tribe, the proposal is straddled between the ATO office building and Westfield at 28 Macgregor St Upper Mt Gravatt.

  • 31x 1 bedroom apartments
  • 64x 2 bedrooms apartments
  • 10x 3 bedrooms
  • 105 Apartments Total
  • Tower B (12 storeys)
  • 30x 1 bedrooms apartments
  • 56x 2 bedrooms apartments
  • 6x 3 bedrooms apartments
  • 92 Apartments Total

The development is marooned in a highly commercial area with close proximity to the Mt Gravatt Bus Interchange.

The proposal includes 250 bike racks, 30 visitor parking bays and 208 resident parking bays across four levels. Common amenities include a podium level furnished communal plaza with lawns and planting.

The buildings will be dressed up by coloured metal fins angled for protection from the western sun, while the balconies will be enclosed for acoustic protection.  Solid walls will act as additional acoustic mitigation. Each tower will feature articulated slab edges to provide flexible internal partition, while external textured concrete walls will add flare.

The proposal carpark features black painted chainmesh screening with climbing veins for seamless visual connection to adjoining landscaping. Further to this, the application calls for limited planting to the streetscape, this, coupled with the buildings leaves it feeling as a questionable location for residential towers.

Ugly much! Reminds me of that Jacaranda coloured Clem7 smoke stack in the Gabba! In 10 years this will be a ghetto

I trust it will provide good walking and cycling links to the bus station. Quality bus services in the area
